About the Doctor
Dr. Claudia Lee received her Honours Bachelor of Science as well as her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. She graduated on the Dean’s Honour’s List, and received the FYidoctors Clinical Leadership Award, the Dr. Stanley Pearle Scholarship, and the Walman Optical Scholarship, all of which are awarded in recognition of leadership, academic achievement, and commitment to community service. As part of her clinical education, Dr. Lee received extensive training at the Eye Foundation of Utah in the treatment and management of eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and dry eye disease. Her training took her to several private practices where she was trained in family and pediatric eye care, glasses and contacts, emergency services, and management of eye disease. She is happy to co-manage ocular disease and provide pre and post-op cataract and laser surgery care. Dr. Lee also has a special interest in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation. She completed an externship at the Vision Institute of Canada, where she gained valuable experience with binocular vision problems in both kids and adults, and patients with special needs. She has undergone extensive training in treating visual efficiency and processing deficiencies, strabismus (eye turn) and amblyopia (“lazy eye”). She recently completed an addition 100 hours in Powerful Vision Therapy education. She continues to obtain ongoing post-graduation education in the form of apprenticeships and courses.
Dr. Lee is committed to active community service. She is a proud member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO), the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO), and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD). In 2012, she had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Lima, Peru and work with a team of optometrists and volunteers provide eye care and donated glasses to an underserviced community. She hopes to participate in more humanitarian missions in the future. Dr. Claudia Lee is happy to practice in her hometown within the GTA, and is looking forward to providing you and your family with comprehensive eye care. Dr. Lee speaks English as well as Cantonese.
