What Is Social Distancing?
Stay home even if you do not have any symptoms!
Stay home even if you do not have any symptoms!
As you are likely aware, the COVD-19 coronavirus is making its way around the country, and we are close to Toronto, the epicenter of Ontario. At Whitby Vision Care and Brooklin Vision Care, we are taking steps to help prevent the spread of the virus to help protect our patients, staff and the community. As a result, we have made the difficult, but important, decision to suspend all vision therapy appointments until April 6 (at least).
We did not take this decision lightly. We want you to know that the health and safety of you all and our staff is our highest priority. We did not have any confirmed cases within our offices, and this was not done out of fear, but out of consideration for everybody’s health – yours, mine, and the community. The most effective way to increase the chance of survival in our community is for all of us to practice social distancing during this pandemic. Stay home and avoid group gatherings, playdates, visitors, and public spaces. This will reduce the spread of the virus and leave important resources in our healthcare system for those who need it most.
If you have any questions about your vision therapy homework – please feel free to email me (info@drclaudialee.com)
If you have an urgent concern about your eyes (eg. sudden loss of vision) – please send me an email or call the office and leave a voicemail. It will continue to be checked and we can try to arrange for an assessment in isolation.
If you develop cold symptoms, or know someone who does, please visit http://ontario.ca/coronavirus to do a self-assessment. This will instruct you on what to do next before you go to the emergency room.
Please take care of yourselves and others in your community. We appreciate your understanding and support during this uncertain time.
Great visualizations on how social distancing helps #FlattenTheCurve or reduce the number of infected people at a given time so that the healthcare system doesn’t get overburdened all at once

The one who stayed away saved all the others.
Social distancing is the only way to reduce the spread of COVID-19. This is important EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO SYMPTOMS.
– Avoid unnecessary gatherings
– Don’t travel unless you have to
– If you do choose to travel, or have recently gotten back from travels, STAY HOME for 2 weeks after you get back, even if you feel well.
– WASH YOUR HANDS AND DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE. Wear a mask if you are coughing or sneezing
