Reading Success After Vision Therapy

C came to us because of problems with reading. He tended to get really tired from reading, so he wouldn’t read for very long. He also tended to lose his place and skip words while reading, and sometimes reversed letters or read backwards. Also, if C tried to read in the car, he got really motion sick and nauseous. Due to this, C didn’t enjoy reading for pleasure.

After vision therapy, C’s parents and grandmother noticed he started to read on his own and was reading bigger books with bigger words. The best change was that he started to choose to read on his own for pleasure! 😁 C himself also mentioned that he didn’t get as tired when he read and found reading a lot easier to do. Also, he can now read in the car without causing any motion sickness and he became more coordinated in sports! Congratulations C! We will miss you and your creative imagination and excitement for learning new vision therapy games

Vision Therapy Helped Eye Turn

We’ve had a ton of VT grads this year, so we have to get back into the habit of sharing their success! 🥳🎉

N came to us because he was diagnosed with alternating exotropia, meaning both of his eyes took turns turning outwards. N had poor control over his eye movement skills and tended to move his head along with moving his eye, instead of being able to separate the two.

After vision therapy, N’s family members said they didn’t notice his eyes turn nearly as much as they used to, and N was much more aware of it. If it did happen, he could now have the awareness and control to realign them. Congratulations N! We will miss you and your love of hockey and playing new games!

Vision Therapy Success

This week, I saw M for a follow up and she gave me this! Love getting these little drawings from patients 😊
M first started coming to us in grade 1 because she was having difficulty with reading and she really disliked it. She kept losing her place, skipping words, and reversing letters. She couldn’t seem to remember any words longer than 3 letters.
After vision therapy, she no longer loses her place or skip words, and has gotten much better at reading! She has even started to enjoy it, and her mom said she picked out some English books to read, even though she only practices in French at school! She was also able to learn to spell tricky words like “friend.”
We’re so proud of how far she has come!!
